WeaveKnitt Exhibition 2025 Concludes Successfully in Surat with Business Worth Over ₹500 Crore
Surat, July 20 – The three-day 'WeaveKnitt Exhibition 2025', jointly organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Centre, concluded successfully today at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sarsana. The exhibition generated an estimated business of over ₹500 crore, drawing an overwhelming response from genuine buyers and textile traders across India.
According to Chamber President Nikhil Madrasi, the initiative to provide a robust business platform for weavers and entrepreneurs looking to enter the garment industry has achieved exceptional success. Over the course of the three days, the exhibition recorded a footfall of 11,885 visitors, which included more than 1,000 authentic buyers from various textile hubs. While 6,380 visitors attended on the first two days, the final day saw a surge of 5,505 visitors.
As per report, buyers from prominent textile markets including Indore, Cuttack, Jaipur, Pune, Varanasi, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi were present in large numbers. Corporate purchasing managers and Surat-based merchants also participated enthusiastically, further enhancing the exhibition's trade momentum.
The exhibition witnessed high demand for products such as plain viscose fabrics produced via airjet and rapier looms, top-dyed sarees, nylon fabrics, and home furnishing fabrics made using waterjet technology. Items such as dobby fabrics, value-added waterjet textiles, and denim fabrics attracted considerable interest from apparel manufacturers, indicating a wide spectrum of product demand.
WeaveKnitt showcased a range of innovative textile solutions, including specialty fabrics for hospitals like waterproof, antimicrobial, and flame-retardant curtains, shower curtains, blackout and whiteout draperies, microfiber polyester fabrics, microfiber bed sheets, comforter fabrics, duvet fabrics and covers, pillow covers, bedspreads, pleated bed skirts, digitally printed blackout fabrics, and ultrasonic blackout fabrics.
In addition, an extensive display of diverse fabric types was featured, including plain, twill, satin, apparel and home décor textiles, single and double jersey, net, and rapier jacquard. The exhibition also highlighted dyed viscose, nylon, and top-dyed sarees, curtain and sofa fabrics, lungi fabrics, brocade fabrics, and technical textiles—garnering significant attention from buyers.
Exhibitors reported receiving a substantial number of orders across categories, reaffirming Surat’s stronghold in the textile industry. The exhibition not only opened new avenues for trade but also elevated the city's textile reputation on a national platform.
