Major Revelation in Ahmedabad Vikas Estate Fire: Most Sheds Unlicensed

AHMEDABAD - A significant disclosure has come to light regarding the fire that ravaged Vikas Estate in Bapunagar, Ahmedabad on Wednesday. An investigation has revealed that the majority of the 179 sheds at the site were operating illegally, with only 17 holding valid licenses.

The revelation was made by the chairman and business operators of Vikas Estate, who admitted to the rampant illegality of the sheds on the property. The traders have repeatedly raised the issue with the Municipal Corporation, but allege that no action has been taken.

The chairman of Vikas Estate also criticized the perceived inaction of local authorities. He claimed that police, fire brigade, and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) teams only stage demonstrations when festivals are approaching.

In the aftermath of the fire, Mayor Kirit Parmar visited the site and pledged to enforce the rules against illegal sheds. The Chief Fire Officer echoed this sentiment, vowing to take action against any violators of fire safety regulations and to recommend police intervention when necessary. This incident highlights the necessity for stricter enforcement of fire regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
