Surat Municipal Commissioner Conducts Surprise Inspection of Hot Mix Plants to Ensure Road Quality
Surat, July 16 – In line with the directive of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, road repair, patchwork, and leveling operations are being actively undertaken across Surat city. As part of this initiative, Surat Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal conducted a surprise inspection of two hot mix plants located in Bhatar area of Athwa zone on Tuesday.
During the visit, the Commissioner thoroughly examined the automated hot mix plants, focusing on the classification of raw materials used in road construction, the temperature of materials, and the computerized mixing process. She reviewed the proportion of grid materials, stone dust, and bitumen, along with evaluating the plant's operational efficiency and machinery maintenance practices.
As per agency report, Commissioner Agarwal issued strict instructions to officials to ensure adherence to standard guidelines in the mixing process to guarantee the quality of road construction. She emphasized the importance of keeping all equipment in working condition to maintain timely and systematic plant operations.
The Commissioner further directed that all technical parameters must be followed diligently so that the citizens receive roads of the highest quality. She also stressed that each zone must ensure adequate supply of materials based on the current requirements, with careful monitoring of stock and logistics.
Municipal engineers, officials from the road department, and technical staff were also present during the inspection. The visit underscores Surat Municipal Corporation’s commitment to improving the condition of city roads and delivering enhanced infrastructure services to the public.
