Saurashtra University's Journalism Department Launches Daily Yoga Sessions to Combat Obesity
Rajkot, July 15 – In a commendable move under the Obesity-Free Campaign, the Journalism Department of Saurashtra University has initiated daily yoga sessions aimed at promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle among students. This initiative is designed to help students overcome obesity and reduce mental stress through the disciplined practice of yoga.
Led by university yoga practitioner Hetalben, the sessions are held every day after academic classes, offering instruction in various yoga postures and breathing exercises (pranayama). The classes are open to both students and faculty members, providing a holistic approach to physical and mental well-being.
As per agency report, in today’s fast-paced life where rising obesity and stress levels are major concerns, this initiative is proving to be highly beneficial for the students. Participation has grown steadily, with many students not only committing to regular practice but also pledging to encourage their families to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Through this effort, Saurashtra University has set an example by integrating health awareness into its academic environment, reinforcing its commitment to the overall development of its students beyond the classroom.
