Four Hospitals Sealed in Surat for Violating Fire Safety Norms

Surat, July 11 – In a major crackdown on fire safety violations, the Fire Department in Surat has sealed four hospitals across Pandesara, Althan, and Udhna areas, sparking concern among hospital operators in the city. The action comes amid growing concerns over fire-related incidents and the need for strict compliance with safety regulations in healthcare institutions.

The hospitals sealed include Shri Deep Children Care Hospital, Kavita Maternity and General Hospital, Advance Orthopedic & Surgical Hospital, and Un Multi Specialist Hospital. Officials stated that each of these facilities was found in violation of critical fire safety norms.

Shri Deep Children Care Hospital, located on the ground and first floors of B-216, 177 Piyush Point in Jalaram Nagar, Pandesara, was sealed for failing to meet fire safety standards. In the same locality, Kavita Maternity and General Hospital, a four-storey facility situated at Plot Numbers 209 to 212, Section-1, Gate No. 2 of Karmyogi Society, was also shut down following a fire safety raid.

In Althan, the fourth floor of Advance Orthopedic & Surgical Hospital, situated in KSB Olympia Mall on VIP Road, was sealed for similar violations. Meanwhile, in the Udhna-Navsari area near Un Patiya, the first and second floors of Un Multi Specialist Hospital located in Royal Square were sealed by the fire department for ignoring essential fire safety guidelines.

Officials from the fire department clarified that disregarding fire safety rules is a serious offense. Hospitals have been warned to ensure full compliance, failing which similar strict actions will follow in the future.

With several recent fire incidents in Surat, the administration is now prioritizing the safety of healthcare facilities, emphasizing that public safety cannot be compromised.
