Satish Raj Goravigere Drives Editorial Growth at Kannada News Today
Bengaluru : As part of a growing editorial vision, Satish Raj Goravigere, journalist and founder of Kannada News Today, has expanded the news team by bringing on Satish B Gudagenatti as Senior Editor. Known for his active role in regional media, Gudagenatti brings valuable field experience to the platform.
A former MLA candidate from Belagavi Rural in the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, Gudagenatti is also the district president of the Karnataka Journalists’ Union (KJU) – Belagavi branch. He currently leads two well-established Kannada newspapers – Belagavi Varadi and Sakshi Prabha – which are widely read across North Karnataka.
His involvement in journalism goes beyond print. Through his NGO, Janapada Mattu Kreeda Sangha, Gudagenatti has been actively contributing to rural upliftment, folk culture, and youth-focused sports development. These long-standing efforts have helped shape his reputation both in media and public service.
According to Satish Raj Goravigere, this change is part of a larger effort to improve regional representation and editorial strength.
“We see this as a step toward deeper grassroots reporting. Mr. Gudagenatti’s editorial background aligns well with our goals.”
Kannada News Today, which began operations in March 2019, has been consistently building a presence across digital platforms with coverage focused on politics, governance and rural affairs.
The platform is also working toward launching a Kannada regional television news channel. Although no official launch date has been disclosed, internal work related to production and setup is in progress.
This editorial change reinforces Kannada News Today's continued focus on factual, public-interest journalism, with a special emphasis on underrepresented areas across Karnataka.
