Salman Khan Opens Up on Marriage, Illness, and Life at 59: “I Like My Solitude Now”
Mumbai, 22 June – For decades, the question “When will Salman Khan get married?” has lingered in the minds of his fans. Even at the age of 59, his admirers still hope the Bollywood superstar will one day tie the knot.
Over the years, Salman Khan has been linked with several well-known actresses — from Sangeeta Bijlani to Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif — but none of those relationships led to marriage. Recently, the actor addressed the topic in an interview that has reignited public curiosity.
During his appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, host Kapil Sharma posed a question about Salman’s personal life. Smiling, the actor replied, “There’s no one special in my life right now.” He went on to add, “To be honest, I don’t have the patience anymore to make sacrifices or deal with the quarrels that come with marriage. I like where I am in life and enjoy my solitude. I’m not ready to share it with anyone.”
His candid response made it clear once again that he has no immediate plans for marriage.
In the same show, Salman also shared some concerning health revelations. He said, “My body is going through a lot. Bones are breaking, ribs are fractured. I’ve been working while dealing with a painful condition called trigeminal neuralgia. I also have a brain aneurysm and an AV malformation. Despite all this, I’m acting, dancing, and continuing my work.”
Speaking jokingly about marriage, he added, “At this age, if I get married and things go wrong, my wife might take half of everything I have. If it had happened when I was younger, I could’ve earned it back. But now…”
Salman’s straightforwardness has once again shown that he lives life on his own terms and speaks his truth unapologetically.
Notably, in 2011, Salman battled the rare and excruciating condition of trigeminal neuralgia — a nerve disorder that causes intense facial pain. During the promotion of Tubelight, he had shared how unbearable the pain was and even admitted that the mental toll had, at times, pushed him to the brink of suicidal thoughts.
He sought treatment in the United States, where he underwent surgery. Though the condition improved, Salman described that time as one of the darkest and most painful phases of his life.
With all that he has faced — professionally and personally — Salman Khan’s journey continues to reflect resilience, clarity, and an unshakable sense of self.
