Tragic Collision in Gandhinagar: High-Speed Luxury Bus Crash Claims Five Lives
Seven Others Injured as Parked Bus Rams into Commuters at Ambika Bus Stand
GANDHINAGAR, May 10 — A devastating accident unfolded today near the Ambika Bus Stand in Kalol, within the Gandhinagar district, resulting in the deaths of five commuters and leaving seven others injured.
The deceased, identified by police as Shardaben Jagaria (50), Balwant Thakor (45), Dilipsinh Vihol (48), Parth Patel (22), and an unnamed individual, were among a group of commuters waiting in front of a parked sky-blue roadways bus. Tragically, they were caught off guard when a high-speed luxury bus collided into the stationary bus from behind.
The impact of the collision caused the parked bus to surge forward, trapping the unsuspecting commuters standing in front. As a result, five people lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe.
Following the collision, onlookers rushed to the scene to assist, and the injured were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital by the 108 emergency ambulance service.
This tragic incident underscores the risks posed by high-speed vehicles and highlights the need for stricter traffic safety measures to protect innocent lives. The authorities are currently investigating the incident, with more updates expected soon.
