Surat : Unexpected Demise of Pregnant Woman Stirs Up Mystery

In an unfortunate event in Surat's Limbayat area, a pregnant woman, Ashalata Gowda, unexpectedly passed away, her cause of death remaining a mystery until the postmortem report is released.

Ashalata was reportedly experiencing abdominal and chest pain during the night. Resorting to home remedies for relief, she went to sleep, only to be found unresponsive the following morning. Despite being rushed to the local Civil Hospital, the medical staff declared her dead on arrival.

The deceased woman's husband, Gopal Gowda, a manual laborer who had been residing in the Limbayat district for six years, shared the tragic sequence of events. Gopal, who married Ashalata around eighteen months ago, had brought her to Surat just six months prior, following the news of her pregnancy.

As per Gopal's account, Ashalata's health had taken an unexpected turn for the worse during the night. He recalled providing relief by massaging her abdomen, chest, and head with oil, after which she managed to fall asleep. However, to his utter shock, Ashalata was unresponsive the next morning.

The situation prompted the immediate involvement of their landlord and his wife, followed by alerting the local emergency service, 108. Ashalata was then transported to the Civil Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following Ashalata's tragic death, the Limbayat police were alerted and quickly arrived at the hospital. They recorded the statements of Gopal and the landlord, initiating the formal investigation into the sudden death.

To ascertain the cause of Ashalata's demise, a panel post-mortem was conducted, witnessed by a Mamlatdar, a local revenue official. The final determination of the cause of death now hinges on the findings of the postmortem report.
