Tarun Agrawal has been actively engaged in the textile trade since 1983 under the banner “Ambika Silk Mills.” He mentioned that the market houses several prominent business establishments including JJ Silk Mills, known for shirting; Ankleshwar Silk Mills, reputed for printed fabrics and online orders; Swami Syntex Private Limited, famous for grey fabric; and Viren Kapda Kendra, which is particularly recognized for supplying garments to the Dawoodi Bohra community. The market’s influence extends to national and international traders, enhancing its overall significance.
Surendra Agrawal, originally from Rajasthan, has been residing in Surat for the past 33 years. He runs a wholesale fabric business under the name “Linen League.” He revealed that his business is connected with major regions like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala. His marketing team actively visits showrooms to promote their products, which are priced between ₹800 and ₹2500.
Ashok Jain, the proprietor of “Oscar Silk Fabric,” has been part of the knitting and garment industry for over 35 years. His trade spans across Bangalore, Delhi, and various parts of Gujarat. He emphasized that the emergence of new players in the garment industry has not negatively impacted his business.
