Vadodara Shines at International Shotokan Karate Championship with Nine Medals in Nepal
Vadodara, widely known for its cultural heritage, has now made a significant mark in the field of sports as well. In a remarkable achievement, karate players from the city secured a total of nine medals at the 2nd International Shotokan Karate Championship held recently in Nepal, bringing pride to both the city and the nation.
The championship took place on May 24 and 25, 2025, with participants from the Shotokan International Karate-Do Organization (India) showcasing their skills on the global stage. Under the expert guidance of coach Mahesh Rawal and Renshi Shivam Rawal, a team of nine players from Vadodara delivered a stellar performance that earned widespread recognition.
As per report, gold medals were won by Arav Singh, Malhar Gadkari, Harinakshi Yagnik, Riya Shah, Arya Sharaf, and Mahesh Rawal, while Aastha Choudhary, Akshat Modi, and Chitra Shah brought home silver medals. The athletes credited their success to rigorous training, consistent practice, and the invaluable mentorship provided by their coaches.
The accomplishment was met with enthusiastic congratulations from parents, coaches, and well-wishers, all of whom praised the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by the young martial artists.
