India-Pakistan Tensions: Gujarat Bans Use of Drones and Firecrackers Until May 15, Warns Against Anti-National Posts
Ahmedabad, May 9 – In response to the escalating military conflict between India and Pakistan, the Gujarat government has imposed a temporary ban on the use of drones and firecrackers across the state until May 15. The announcement was made by Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, who also issued a stern warning against individuals spreading anti-national sentiments on social media.
As per agency report, Sanghavi shared the update on social media platform X, stating, “Use of drones or firecrackers in any event or gathering will not be permitted until May 15. Please cooperate and follow the issued guidelines.”
Earlier in the day, the minister chaired a high-level video conference meeting with senior police officials, including the Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay, officers from the Intelligence Bureau, Police Commissioners, Range IGs, District Superintendents, and Cyber Crime officials.
An official statement following the meeting confirmed that strict surveillance is being maintained on social media platforms. Authorities have been instructed to take immediate legal action against individuals posting content that could incite unrest or undermine the morale of the armed forces.
The statement also clarified that sharing operational details or sensitive information about military movements online will attract serious consequences.
Following the meeting, Sanghavi confirmed that four FIRs had already been registered in different parts of the state against individuals accused of spreading anti-national content and attempting to demoralize the armed forces through online platforms.
“We will not tolerate any content on social media that harms national interest,” said Sanghavi, reaffirming the state’s commitment to maintaining law and order during a time of heightened national security concern.
