Three Pakistani Nationals, Including a Child, Detained in Gujarat for Illegal Stay in India

Authorities in Gujarat's Rajkot district have detained a 50-year-old Pakistani woman, her son, and her two-year-old grandson for allegedly residing illegally in India. According to police sources, the family had been living in Lodhika taluka of Rajkot for over two decades without proper legal documentation, as per agency report.

The woman, identified as Rizwanaben Tatariya from Karachi, Pakistan, had been residing in India since July 1999. Her husband, Munaf Tatariya, was a resident of Rajkot district and had met Rizwanaben in 1992 while working on a visa in Karachi. The two were married in Pakistan, and their son Zeeshan was born soon after.

While Munaf returned to India in 1994, Rizwanaben and her son entered India on July 30, 1999, using a joint Pakistani passport. Since then, the two never returned to Pakistan and continued living in India without valid documentation. Police officials revealed that Zeeshan married a local Indian woman in 2021, allegedly without proper legal procedures, and the couple had a son in September 2022.

Following a tip-off about foreign nationals residing illegally in the Lodhika area, Rajkot's Rural Local Crime Branch initiated an investigation. Upon verification, it was found that Rizwanaben, Zeeshan, and the child were staying in India without legal residency status. The three have now been taken into custody for further legal action under relevant immigration and foreign national laws.
