Rajkot, May 2 — A tragic road accident between Lothada and Bhayasara villages in Rajkot district claimed the life of 52-year-old Rameshbhai Bhanjibhai Detroja when his motorcycle collided with a nilgai crossing the road. The impact of the collision was so severe that Rameshbhai died on the spot, as per agency report.
Rameshbhai was originally from Vedant City on Ambash Road in Mota Varachha, Surat, and worked in the diamond polishing industry. He is survived by his wife and a son who is employed as a junior engineer at JETCO. The family was in the process of shifting household goods due to the son's recent job transfer from Vinchhiya to Shapar.
On April 28, Rameshbhai left for Shapar on a motorcycle, while his wife and son were ahead in a car. While trailing behind on the highway, a nilgai suddenly darted across the road, leading to the fatal collision between the animal and Rameshbhai’s two-wheeler.
Local authorities rushed to the scene and sent the body for postmortem. Following the incident, villagers have raised concerns about the frequent presence of wild animals on roads and urged the administration to implement safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
