Surat, Pal Area: A tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon when a teenage girl was struck and killed by a truck in a hit-and-run incident. The victim, identified as Diya, was a class 11 student at the Seventh Day School at Athwagate.
Diya was returning home from school when the speeding truck hit her car near Galaxy Circle in Surat's Pal area. The force of the collision caused Diya to fall onto the road, and she was subsequently run over by the truck's wheel. Tragically, she died on the spot.
The accident left local residents in a state of shock and panic. In the aftermath of the incident, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Police from Pal police station, led by the PI, arrived at the location and transported Diya's body to the new civil hospital in Surat for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities are currently investigating the case and are working to identify the truck driver based on the vehicle's license plate number.
