Surat : Grappling Committee Holds Productive Meeting with Jignesh Patil to Boost the Sport in Gujarat
Surat, April 29 – In a significant move to promote grappling in Gujarat, the Grappling Committee convened a crucial meeting today with youth leader Jignesh Patil. Patil, son of Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and president of the youth organization 'Youth for Gujarat', expressed keen interest in supporting the development of grappling as a competitive sport across the state.
The meeting focused on the current state, scope, and popularity of grappling in Gujarat. Patil was formally invited to attend the upcoming international grappling championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, an invitation he warmly accepted. He also encouraged Gujarat's athletes to showcase their skills on the global stage.
Patil assured the committee of his full support to promote grappling, and expressed interest in hosting a national-level grappling tournament in Surat in the near future.
