Surat International Flight Fares Drop to Domestic Levels, Making Overseas Travel More Attractive
Surat, April 29 – If you are planning an international vacation during this summer break, there’s good news. Airfare from Surat to popular international destinations like Dubai, Sharjah, and Bangkok has become so affordable that it now rivals or even falls below the cost of domestic flights from major Indian cities.
Currently, the airfare from Surat to Dubai and Sharjah ranges between ₹8,000 and ₹9,000, while the fare from Surat to Delhi is also hovering between ₹6,000 and ₹9,000. Similarly, the fare for flights from Surat to Bangkok stands around ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 — roughly equivalent to the cost of a first-class train ticket.
In comparison, domestic flight fares from Surat show similar patterns: Delhi (₹6,000–₹9,000), Bengaluru (₹5,000–₹6,000), Chennai (₹5,000–₹7,000), Kolkata (around ₹9,000), Hyderabad (₹5,000–₹7,000), and Goa (as low as ₹3,000).
This trend in the aviation sector is largely attributed to an increase in domestic flight options from Surat International Airport, which has led to a reduction in monopoly among airlines and increased competition, resulting in lower fares.
Similarly, for international routes, two flights currently operate between Surat and Dubai, one to Sharjah, and one to Bangkok. The competition among these services is also helping keep ticket prices under control.
Thus, in May, there appears to be little difference between domestic and international airfares from Surat, offering travelers an attractive opportunity to explore international destinations at reasonable prices.
