A retired government employee living in Radhe Krishna Park area of Jamnagar city was duped of Rs 10 lakhs by Faiz Tours and Travels, a tour operator based in Ahmedabad, on the pretext of taking him for Hajj in 2022. The manager of the tour company had come into contact with the couple and had told them that he takes people for Hajj every year. However, after depositing Rs 10 lakh 10 thousand for visa and ticket for the Hajj trip in Sahinben's account, the couple did not receive the promised documents. After repeated attempts to contact the manager, the couple filed a complaint with the City-A Division Police Station.
The complaint was filed against the female manager of the tour company and another person. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter. Such cases of fraud have been increasing in recent times, and authorities have urged people to be cautious when dealing with unknown tour operators or companies.
