Three Arrested for Gang Rape of Girl in Ranchi
Ranchi, April 29 – Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the alleged gang rape of a girl in Ranchi district of Jharkhand. Officials confirmed the arrests on Tuesday.
The incident took place a few days ago in the Namkum police station area, although the victim’s father lodged the First Information Report (FIR) only on April 27. According to Ranchi’s Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sumit Kumar Agrawal, a special team was formed based on the complaint, leading to the swift arrest of all three accused, who have reportedly confessed to their crime.
As per agency report, the accused have been identified as Jagdish Swansi (20), Vishnu Munda (18), and Deepak Munda (19). Investigations revealed that Vishnu knew the victim through interactions on social media.
According to the complaint, the girl was returning from the market when Vishnu lured her to a secluded hilly area where his two accomplices were already waiting. The three then allegedly committed the crime.
Police have stated that further investigations are underway, and the arrested individuals will face charges under relevant sections of the law.
