Six Sanitation Workers Killed, Five Injured After Being Hit by Vehicle on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Gurugram, April 26 – In a tragic accident on Saturday morning, six sanitation workers were killed and five others seriously injured when a speeding pickup vehicle ran over them near Ibrahim Bas village on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway under the Firozpur Jhirka police station area in Haryana’s Nuh district. Police confirmed the incident and stated that the injured have been admitted to a hospital, where their condition remains critical.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 10 AM when 11 sanitation workers were engaged in cleaning work on the expressway. Suddenly, a fast-moving pickup vehicle lost control and hit the workers, leading to six deaths on the spot.

As per agency report, local residents immediately informed the police and assisted in transporting the injured to the hospital for urgent medical care. A senior police official mentioned that the identities of the deceased are still being verified, though preliminary information suggests that one of the victims belonged to Kheri Kalan village and another to Jhimrawat village.

The police have launched an investigation into the causes of the accident and initiated action against the driver of the pickup vehicle. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and collecting other evidence to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. The official further stated that the injured are undergoing treatment and that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined.
