ICG Rescues Ailing Fisherman off Gujarat Coast Following Medical Emergency at Sea

New Delhi, April 24 – In a swift response to a medical emergency at sea, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully evacuated a fisherman suffering from severe chest pain and seizures off the coast of Gujarat. As per agency report, the rescue operation was carried out approximately 90 kilometers off the coast near Jafrabad.

According to officials, the incident was managed by the Marine Rescue Sub Centre located at Pipavav, which dispatched the ICG vessel C-419 to the distressed location. The fisherman had been experiencing acute chest pain and convulsions while on a fishing expedition in the Arabian Sea.

The ICG shared details of the rescue on social media along with images of the operation, stating that the patient was brought safely back to the Gujarat coast and handed over to the Jafrabad Matsya Sangh for medical treatment.

The fisherman’s condition is now reported to be stable. The ICG’s prompt intervention highlights its preparedness and commitment to ensuring safety and rapid medical support for mariners operating in Indian waters.
