New Delhi, April 14, 2025 – Law enforcement agencies have seized 300 kilograms of narcotics valued at Rs 1,800 crore from near the international maritime boundary off the Gujarat coast. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the major development on Monday, emphasizing the government's ongoing commitment to eradicating drug networks across the country.

As per agency report, Shah took to social media platform X to share the update, stating that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the government is determined to dismantle the drug trade from its roots. He described the operation as a significant milestone in the mission to build a drug-free India.

Calling the operation a reflection of the Modi government’s comprehensive approach to tackling the menace of narcotics, the Home Minister highlighted the coordination between national security forces. He specifically praised the successful efforts of the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard, whose joint operation led to the massive seizure at sea.

This interception adds to a series of recent high-profile anti-narcotics operations along India’s coastal regions, signaling increased vigilance by enforcement agencies.
