On National Pet Day, Surat’s Surbhi Jalan Promotes Compassionate Care for Animals
Surat, April 11, 2025 — As the world celebrated National Pet Day on April 11, a day dedicated to honoring the loyal companions who enrich our lives, pet owners and animal lovers were reminded of the love, responsibility, and care these animals deserve. The occasion serves as a powerful message that pets are not merely domestic animals but integral members of the family.
On this meaningful day, Loktej spoke to Surbhi Jalan, the owner of 'MAD About Dogs,' a specialty pet store located in Surat’s Vesu area at Central Plaza. Since founding the store in 2019, Jalan has been committed to providing holistic care for pets, offering a range of services and products that cater to the unique needs of dogs and cats. Her store features everything from food and grooming items to customized clothing and toys. It even offers pet-friendly cakes for birthday celebrations, making it a one-stop destination for pet lovers. As per agency report, a special promotional offer was introduced in honor of National Pet Day.
Jalan emphasized the importance of viewing pets not as objects but as emotionally sensitive members of society. She highlighted that caring for a pet is a serious responsibility that includes ensuring proper nutrition, emotional security, and medical attention. Through social media platforms, she actively promotes awareness on how to better care for pets.
Sharing valuable tips, Jalan noted that dogs should ideally be bathed every five days and warned against feeding them items such as milk, flour, salt, sugar, and chocolate, which can be harmful. Instead, she recommended a balanced diet consisting of eggs, rice, yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, and millet-based rotis. She also urged pet lovers to place water bowls in public areas during the scorching summer months to help stray animals quench their thirst.
Through her heartfelt message on National Pet Day, Surbhi Jalan not only reinforced the emotional bond shared with pets but also inspired society to become more responsible and compassionate toward animals. Her advocacy continues to promote a culture of respect and empathy for all living beings.
