Agarwal Mahila Unit Empowers Women Through Self-Reliance Initiative in Surat
Surat, April 11, 2025 — In a commendable step toward women's empowerment, the women’s wing of the Agarwal Samaj Trust, Ghoddod Road, Surat, organized a special program under its Agarvansh Nari Swavalamban Yojana to support underprivileged women in becoming economically independent. During the event held on Thursday at the community hall, four economically disadvantaged Agarwal women were provided with sewing machines to help them start or expand their livelihoods.
As per agency report, the initiative is part of an ongoing monthly mission aimed at equipping women with tools and opportunities that enable them to contribute financially to their families. The program also included the distribution of school fee cheques to daughters of widowed women and visually impaired families, ensuring that education continues uninterrupted and these young girls are not deprived of opportunities for a better future.
The event was graced by community president Ramprasad Agarwal (Koki Bhai) and women’s wing president Rekha Jalan. Other key members present included Premalata Agarwal, Neetu Agarwal, Jyoti Agarwal, Disha Lohia, Chitra Agarwal, Vijayalakshmi Agarwal, Sudha Chaudhary, Anita Jagnani, Ambika Gupta, and Lakshmi Agarwal, along with various office bearers and executive members of the trust.
The organization has pledged to continue and expand this initiative based on need, aspiring to touch more lives in the community. This act of service is not just a reflection of social responsibility but a shining example of collective action toward sustainable women empowerment and social welfare.
