In 2022, they applied under PMAY and were elated when they were allotted a ground-floor flat in the Subhanpura area. Moving into their new home in February 2025 was, for them, a moment of immense joy and a turning point in their lives.
The couple managed to arrange the finances through a bank loan, and Khushboo even sold her jewelry to meet the expenses. Despite these sacrifices, they now take pride in owning a home that meets their specific needs and provides a sense of dignity and independence.
As per agency report, PMAY aims not only to provide housing but also to empower economically weaker sections by giving them access to safe, affordable homes with essential facilities.
