Trailer of 'Kesari Chapter 2' Starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday Released in Delhi
Mumbai, April 3 – Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, popularly known as the 'Khiladi' of Hindi cinema, launched the trailer of his upcoming film 'Kesari Chapter 2' in Delhi, accompanied by co-stars R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday. The event also featured the unveiling of the film’s new poster, creating excitement among fans ahead of its theatrical release.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Bindra, 'Kesari Chapter 2' is based on the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a lawyer and former President of the Indian National Congress, who fought to expose the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
As per agency report, the trailer begins with a haunting glimpse of the firing that took place at Jallianwala Bagh on April 13, 1919. Akshay Kumar is seen portraying C.S. Nair, engaging in intense courtroom drama as he questions General Dyer, asking whether he gave any warning or used tear gas before opening fire on the crowd. When General Dyer responds with a firm no, Nair retorts by highlighting the brutality of shooting without warning, to which Dyer controversially replies that the people present were "terrorists."
R. Madhavan appears in the role of the opposing counsel, bringing further tension to the legal battle. Ananya Panday plays one of the earliest women to pursue law during a time when it was largely considered a male-dominated profession.
The newly released poster emphasizes the gravity of the historical incident, with Akshay Kumar posting on social media: “1650 bullets, 10 minutes, and one man who roared against it. Witness the truth behind the horrific massacre that shook India.”
Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, 'Kesari Chapter 2' is scheduled for release in cinemas on April 18, 2025. The film promises to delve deep into a dark chapter of colonial history while showcasing a powerful courtroom drama.
