Maruti Suzuki to Hike Car Prices by Rs 2,500 to Rs 62,000 from April 8
New Delhi, April 2 – Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the country’s largest car manufacturer, has announced that it will increase prices across several of its models starting April 8, with hikes ranging between Rs 2,500 and Rs 62,000.
As per agency report, the company informed stock exchanges on Wednesday that the decision has been driven by rising input costs, operational expenses, regulatory changes, and the inclusion of new features in vehicles. Despite efforts to absorb a significant portion of the cost pressures, Maruti Suzuki stated that it is now compelled to pass on some of the burden to customers.
The price adjustment will vary depending on the model. The compact SUV Fronx will see an increase of Rs 2,500, while the Dzire Tour S will become costlier by Rs 3,000. Multi-purpose vehicles XL6 and Ertiga will see a hike of Rs 12,500.
Additionally, the price of the compact model Wagon R is set to rise by Rs 14,000, and the Eeco van by Rs 22,500. The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining cost-efficiency and minimizing the impact on customers, even as it navigates escalating manufacturing and compliance costs.
