Rajkot Tragedy: Teenager Dies After Being Hit by Water Bottle Thrown from Moving Train
Rajkot – In a tragic and highly unusual incident, a 14-year-old boy lost his life after being struck in the chest by a water bottle thrown from a moving train in the Shapar industrial area of Rajkot. The incident occurred around 2:45 PM on Monday as the Veraval-Bandra Express passed through the area.
The victim, Badal, son of Santoshbhai Godathakar, originally from Madhya Pradesh and residing in Ganeshnagar, Shapar, was sitting near the Muscat railway crossing with his friends when the incident took place. An unidentified passenger aboard the moving train threw a water bottle out of the window, which struck Badal directly in the chest with significant force. The impact was so severe that the boy collapsed immediately.
He was rushed to the Shapar Primary Health Centre, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Initially, police suspected cardiac arrest as the cause of death. However, upon reviewing CCTV footage from the area, it became clear that the fatal injury was caused by the bottle thrown from the train.
As per media report, forensic experts from Rajkot conducted a detailed postmortem examination, confirming that a high-impact blow to the chest from a heavy object can cause severe damage to the heart, potentially leading to instant death.
Following this revelation, Shapar police registered a case of death due to negligence against the unknown train passenger and have begun an investigation to identify the individual responsible.
