Riyan Parag Fined Rs 12 Lakh for Slow Over Rate in Royals’ Win Over CSK

Guwahati, March 31 – Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in captain Riyan Parag has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during his team’s narrow six-run win against Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match held in Guwahati.

As per agency report, the Royals posted a total of 182 for nine before restricting Super Kings to 176 for six, thereby securing their first win of the season under Parag’s leadership at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

The IPL issued a statement confirming that the penalty was imposed as it was the team’s first offence of the season under the league’s Code of Conduct for minimum over rate offences, as specified in Rule 2.22.

After suffering a loss in their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Royals bounced back strongly. They are now scheduled to face Punjab Kings on April 5 in Mullanpur.
