Ajay Devgn Returns as Fearless IRS Officer in 'Raid 2'; Teaser Promises Action-Packed Sequel

Mumbai, March 28 – The much-awaited teaser of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Raid 2 has been released, offering fans a glimpse into the high-stakes drama and intense action awaiting them. Reprising his iconic role as fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, Devgn is seen raiding the residence of powerful politician 'Dada Bhai', played by Riteish Deshmukh.

The teaser features Devgn delivering a powerful line that has already captured viewers’ attention: "Maine kab kaha main Pandav hoon, main to poori Mahabharat hoon" – raising the suspense and excitement surrounding the film.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Devgn wrote, “Raid. 4,200 crore. This time, the stakes are higher than ever! Raid 2 teaser out now. The film hits theatres on May 1, 2025.”

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who is now taking on a massive financial scam worth Rs 4,200 crore. The sequel is inspired by real-life income tax raids and showcases the officer’s mission to uncover black money hoarded by corrupt officials and politicians. Riteish Deshmukh portrays a powerful antagonist, while Vaani Kapoor joins the cast in a significant role, replacing Ileana D’Cruz from the original film.

The film marks the continuation of the 2018 hit Raid, which received critical and commercial acclaim for its gripping storyline and strong performances. According to the filmmakers, the idea for a sequel was officially announced in April 2020, with pre-production starting in August 2022.

In addition to Raid 2, Devgn is also working on the sequel to Son of Sardaar, where he will share the screen with Mrunal Thakur and Sanjay Dutt. The original 2012 film featured Devgn alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Juhi Chawla.

Raid 2 is set to bring a blend of action, suspense, and political drama to the big screen, as Devgn’s character once again battles corruption with grit and determination. The film will be released in cinemas nationwide on May 1, 2025.
