Vadodara Student Overcomes Adversity, Passes Class 12 Exam After 78 Days on Ventilator
Yashvi Patel Battles GBS and Defies the Odds to Clear Class 12 Science Exam
Vadodara - Yashvi Patel, a resilient student from Vadodara, has defied all odds by passing her Class 12 Science exam after spending 78 days on a ventilator due to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). The young achiever showed immense determination to overcome her health challenges and achieve academic success.
A resident of Harni Road, Yashvi Patel had consistently performed well academically, scoring a 94 percentile in Class 10 and an 86 percentile in Science in Class 11. She was preparing for her Class 12 Science exam in March 2022 when she was diagnosed with GBS, a condition that severely affected her mobility and left her bedridden.
Yashvi spent three months in the hospital, with 78 days on ventilator support, before being discharged in January 2022. Although she still had difficulty walking and standing due to the lingering effects of GBS, Yashvi's determination to pass her exam never wavered.
Initially, she made the heart-wrenching decision to postpone her 2022 exam. After returning home, Yashvi continued to face mobility challenges for seven months but remained steadfast in her resolve to complete her studies. She decided to take the exam in March 2023 and resumed her studies in December 2022.
With the support of her family and the assistance of two people to help her stand, Yashvi attended school for three months. Her unwavering determination paid off, as she successfully passed her Class 12 Science exam with a 50% score.
Reflecting on her journey, Yashvi expressed her gratitude for her family's encouragement and acknowledged that her exam results might have been even better if not for her illness. Nonetheless, she remains proud of her accomplishments and her ability to overcome adversity.
