Budget Constraints Delay Salman Khan's Action Film with Atlee

Mumbai, March 27 – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has revealed that his much-anticipated action film with South Indian filmmaker Atlee is facing delays due to budget-related issues. During a group interview with PTI-Bhasha, Khan stated that Atlee has written a massive action project, but financial considerations are currently holding the film back.

As per agency report, Khan clarified that he is unsure whether veteran actors like Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan will be part of the film, as nothing is finalized yet. He emphasized that the core challenge lies in the economics, noting that both parties involved require significant remuneration, and producing a large-scale film comes with major responsibilities.

The actor pointed out a disparity in audience reception between North and South Indian films, suggesting that while Bollywood has warmly welcomed actors and technicians from the South, the reverse has not always been the case. He cited the success of South stars like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Suriya, and Ram Charan in Hindi-speaking markets, highlighting that their films are well-received in the North. However, he expressed concern that his own films might not get similar traction in Southern states despite appreciation.

In addition to his collaboration with Atlee, Khan also confirmed that he is working on a big-budget action film with long-time friend and co-star Sanjay Dutt. The duo has previously shared the screen in films like "Saajan" and "Chal Mere Bhai." Although the project is confirmed, the director is yet to be finalized.

When asked about reports of Pakistani actresses expressing a desire to work with him, Khan humorously responded that they are welcome to apply for the necessary permissions and visas if such collaborations were to happen.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming action film "Sikandar," slated to hit theatres on March 30 during the Eid weekend. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Satyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi.
