Amit Shah Declares Separatism in Kashmir a Thing of the Past
Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Tuesday that separatism in Kashmir has become a matter of history. His remarks came in response to the announcement by two constituents of the Hurriyat Conference—Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement and Democratic Political Movement—that they have severed all ties with separatist ideology.
Welcoming the move, Shah emphasized that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully eliminated separatist tendencies from Jammu and Kashmir through its consistent policies aimed at national integration. As per agency report, he highlighted that this development marks a significant milestone in the efforts to ensure a peaceful and unified India.
Shah also urged other groups with similar leanings to come forward and disassociate themselves from separatism permanently. He called the decision by the two groups a major victory in the direction of realizing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed, peaceful, and united India.
The statement was made through a post on the social media platform X, where Shah expressed optimism that this step would further strengthen the spirit of national unity in the region.
