India’s Traditional ‘Goli Soda’ Finds Strong Demand in US, Europe, Gulf Markets
India’s iconic traditional beverage ‘Goli Soda’, also known for its unique glass marble-sealed bottles, is witnessing a resurgence in global markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Gulf countries. The drink, once pushed to the margins by multinational beverage giants, is now making a noteworthy comeback on the international stage.
As per agency report, this revival is attributed to strategic international expansion and innovative branding efforts. According to an official statement released on Sunday, India has initiated exports of Goli Soda—rebranded as “Goli Pop Soda”—to one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf region, Lulu Hypermarket, through a strategic partnership with Fair Exports.
The Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce, highlighted the product’s growing global traction, noting that consumers have responded enthusiastically. The nostalgic charm of the traditional drink, combined with a modern twist in packaging and positioning, has resonated with international buyers seeking unique and culturally rooted products.
The revamped version of Goli Soda, with its distinctive glass bottle sealed with a marble, now appeals to a new generation of global consumers. Its transformation into a trendy and exciting beverage has helped it gain a strong foothold in premium retail segments across key international markets.
The success of Goli Pop Soda marks a significant achievement for Indian beverage exports, reflecting the potential of traditional products to compete and thrive in contemporary global markets when supported by innovation and strategic promotion.
