Patna, March 12 – A tragic accident occurred in Patna’s Punpun area on Wednesday when an unidentified speeding truck ran over a shepherd and his flock, killing both the man and 17 of his sheep.
As per agency report, the deceased was identified as Mithilesh Bhagat. The incident took place near Sammanchak village on National Highway 22. Masaurhi-2 Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Kanhaiya Singh stated that along with the fatalities, 10 other sheep were injured in the mishap.
Upon receiving information, a police team arrived at the scene, informing the local livestock officer about the incident. The shepherd's body was sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured sheep were given medical attention.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the case, and efforts are underway to trace the unidentified truck responsible for the accident.
