Four Killed, Eight Injured as Vehicle Plunges into Gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi
Jammu, March 11, 2025 – A tragic accident occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Tuesday when a vehicle lost control and plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the death of four people and injuries to eight others.
According to officials, the accident took place near the Gangode area when the driver of a ‘Tempo Traveller’ lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall into a steep ravine. The impact of the crash was severe, leading to immediate casualties.
Rescue operations were swiftly initiated as local police and personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the site. Officials confirmed that three people lost their lives on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Parmvir Singh, stated that the vehicle was traveling from Jammu to Mahore when the accident occurred. Of the eight injured, six have been referred to Jammu for advanced medical treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, and efforts are underway to ensure proper medical care for the injured.
