Five Workers Die Due to Suffocation While Cleaning Water Tank in Mumbai
Mumbai, March 9 – In a tragic incident in South Mumbai, five laborers lost their lives due to suffocation while cleaning a water tank in an under-construction building. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at around 12:30 PM at Bismillah Space Building on Dimtimkar Road in the Nagpada area, as per agency reports.
According to officials, the workers had entered the tank for cleaning when they suddenly lost consciousness. Those present at the construction site immediately alerted the fire department. Firefighters rushed to the scene and retrieved the unconscious workers, who were then transported to JJ Hospital. However, doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and local police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Authorities are currently assessing the cause of the accident, and further details are awaited.
