Vadodara Court Sentences Man to Three Years in Jail for Attempted Sexual Assault

Vadodara, March 8 – A local court in Vadodara has sentenced a man to three years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh in connection with an attempted sexual assault case dating back to 2019. The verdict was delivered by Magistrate Neeraj Kumar Yadav after reviewing the evidence and arguments presented by both sides.

As per media reports, the incident occurred on February 15, 2019, when Parinita, a resident of Manjalpur, Vadodara, called a sewing machine repairman, identified as Nainesh Hasmukhlal Parmar, to fix her faulty machine. The accused, a resident of Mark Flats on Bill Canal Road in Atladara, arrived at her house the next morning around 10 a.m. to inspect the machine.

However, during the visit, Nainesh allegedly made inappropriate advances towards Parinita, offering her ₹10,000 in exchange for compliance with his demands. When she refused, he forcibly pushed her onto the sofa and attempted to assault her. Parinita resisted by kicking him and managed to escape from the flat.

Following her complaint filed on February 16, 2019, the case proceeded to trial. The prosecution, represented by government lawyer S.R. Kosti, presented the arguments against the accused. After considering the testimonies and documentary evidence, the court found Nainesh Parmar guilty and sentenced him to three years in jail, along with a fine of ₹1 lakh.
