Vadodara : Women’s Empowerment Programs Organized Across Vadodara District on International Women’s Day
In celebration of International Women’s Day, various programs dedicated to women’s empowerment and recognition were held across Vadodara district. Women from different sectors actively participated in these events, which aimed to highlight their contributions and provide them with essential guidance on security, health, and social welfare.
As per media report, inspired by the Gujarat State Women’s Commission, a "Mahila Sammelan" (Women’s Conference) was organized in Karjan. The event was attended by Karjan Municipality President Elaba Atalia along with several women councilors. During the conference, the Karjan Police’s SHE Team provided detailed guidance on women’s safety measures, including the Suraksha Setu initiative and the 181 Abhayam Helpline.
Health department officials addressed various health issues faced by women and provided information on welfare schemes launched by the state government. Additionally, the district program officer delivered an insightful session on the essence of women's empowerment and how equality can be achieved without struggle.
In another initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), the District Rural Development Agency organized an event to honor female sanitation workers at taluka headquarters. Women engaged in maintaining cleanliness in villages and contributing to public service were felicitated by local community leaders in recognition of their efforts.
These programs underscored the commitment of local authorities toward ensuring the well-being and empowerment of women while promoting their active participation in various spheres of life.
