PM Modi to Address 'Lakhpati Didi' Event in Gujarat on International Women’s Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ program in Gujarat’s Navsari on Saturday, marking International Women’s Day. The event, expected to witness the participation of over 1.1 lakh women, will be held in Vansi-Borsi and will be entirely managed by female police personnel and staff.

As per reports, this initiative is being hailed as a milestone in policing, as every aspect of law enforcement and event management will be handled exclusively by women officers. The security and logistics of the program will be overseen by a total of 2,165 constables, 187 inspectors, 61 sub-inspectors, 19 deputy superintendents of police, five superintendents, one inspector general, and one additional director general of police—all of whom will be women.

The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative is a key government program aimed at empowering rural women by helping them achieve financial independence through self-employment and skill development. The event in Navsari will highlight the success of this scheme while also celebrating women's contributions to society.

The large-scale participation and exclusive management by women officers reflect the broader push toward gender inclusivity in governance and law enforcement. The event is expected to reinforce the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and set a new precedent in organizing large public gatherings.
