Two Teenagers and a Woman Arrested for ₹2 Crore Boutique Heist in Delhi
New Delhi, March 4: Police have arrested a woman and apprehended two teenagers in connection with the ₹2 crore robbery at a boutique in Fatehpur Beri, South Delhi. The stolen items included expensive bridal wear, electronic gadgets, paintings, and other valuable goods.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Achin Garg, the incident occurred on March 1 at around 11:15 PM. One of the teenagers involved in the crime was a former employee of the boutique, giving them prior knowledge of the premises.
The police investigation revealed that on the night of the robbery, a woman approached the security guard at the farmhouse-based boutique, introducing herself as a relative of the owner and requesting access to the washroom. While distracting the guard, two male accomplices overpowered him, tied him up, and proceeded with the robbery. They stole designer bridal outfits, luxury items, and electronic equipment before fleeing the scene.
After the guard managed to free himself, he immediately informed the police. The suspects attempted to erase evidence by stealing the boutique's CCTV DVR, but police managed to trace the tempo used in the crime. The vehicle was last spotted in Manglapuri, leading investigators to conduct an extensive search of the area. Eventually, the tempo was found parked in a narrow lane.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle belonged to a friend of one of the teenagers. Upon questioning, the teenager confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of his two accomplices. Police discovered that both teenagers, residents of Sultanpur, had met the woman through social media and collaborated to plan and execute the heist.
Authorities recovered all the stolen items from a rented accommodation in Aaya Nagar, and the woman was arrested from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The case highlights the increasing use of social media in orchestrating crimes, as well as the involvement of minors in high-profile thefts. The investigation is ongoing, and police are probing whether the suspects had any prior involvement in similar crimes.
