Nayanthara Earned ₹5 Crore for Just 50 Seconds in a Tata Sky Ad

Mumbai, March 2: South Indian superstar Nayanthara, often referred to as the "Lady Superstar," charged a staggering ₹5 crore for a mere 50-second appearance in a Tata Sky advertisement. According to reports, she signed a contract with the company to shoot the ad in four languages—Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada—making it one of the highest-paid endorsements in the industry.

Nayanthara, who has won several awards for her performances, had no initial plans to enter the film industry. She pursued a degree in English Literature and aspired to become a Chartered Accountant, but fate had other plans. She made her acting debut in 2003 with the Malayalam film Manassinakkare, which became a massive box office hit. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the highest-paid actresses in India, reportedly charging around ₹10 crore per film.

With a net worth of approximately ₹200 crore, Nayanthara lives a lavish lifestyle and even owns a private jet worth ₹50 crore. In 2018, she became the only South Indian actress to be featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list.

After her role in Vismayathumbathu, she took a brief break from Tamil and Telugu cinema but made a strong comeback in 2005 with Ayya. Over the past two decades, she has starred in over 80 films, earning critical acclaim. Her performance as Sita in Sri Rama Rajyam won her the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress.

While Bollywood actresses like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif are among the highest-paid, Nayanthara’s name stands out as a top-earning South Indian actress, alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Rashmika Mandanna. Her dominance in the industry continues, cementing her status as a leading figure in Indian cinema.
