Premiere of 'Moti Sethani' Movie Held in Surat, Showcasing the Legacy of Rani Sati Dadi
Surat, March 2: The premiere show of Moti Sethani, a film based on the life of Rani Sati Dadi, was held at Rungta Cinema in Surat on Friday night. The event was graced by film producer Sanjay Rana Tulsyan, actress Varsha Soni, All India Agarwal Organization’s National General Secretary Rajesh Bharuka, Vaishya Mahasammelan’s State General Secretary Raju Khandelwal, social worker Vimal Soni, Milan Jhunjhunwala, and several other dignitaries, along with members of the Dadi Mandir family. The film will be screened at Rungta Cinema for a week.
The movie has generated immense enthusiasm among devotees of Rani Sati Dadi, not only in Surat but across multiple cities in India. Rani Sati Dadi has millions of followers across the country, and the grand festival of Bhadrapada Amavasya is celebrated annually at her temple in Jhunjhunu. This event is also marked by special Mangalpath celebrations in various cities, including Surat.
Director and producer Sanjay Rana Tulsyan shared insights about the film’s journey, stating that he was inspired to create a movie deeply rooted in Rajasthan’s cultural heritage. The film was primarily shot in Alarisar village, located in Jhunjhunu district, and its surrounding areas within a 10-kilometer radius. The entire project was completed in 27 days over a span of 1.5 years, with a production cost of ₹2.5 crore. The film features 150 actors, supported by a crew of 250 individuals. Lead roles are played by Mohit Sharma and Anya Bubna as Narayani, with performances by Shaniil Sharma, Arpan Agarwal, Muskan Dubey, Rajendra Kumar, Sudhanshu Sharma, and Ramkaran Chaudhary.
Tulsyan further highlighted that there are over 900 temples dedicated to Rani Sati Dadi across India, and her temples are also established in 15 countries, including Hong Kong, London, and Bangkok. The film was officially launched on February 26 in Jaipur on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and was released nationwide on February 28 in 27 theaters across 18 cities, including Kolkata, Mumbai, and Surat.
The two-hour, 23-minute film beautifully captures Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage. Music for the film is composed by Satish Dehra, featuring five songs, four of which were recorded at Alka Yagnik’s studio, while one was recorded at Suresh Wadkar’s studio. With a dedicated team of 250 people contributing to the project, Moti Sethani aims to bring the revered legacy of Rani Sati Dadi to audiences worldwide.
