New Delhi, March 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin a three-day visit to Gujarat starting Saturday. During his visit, he will offer prayers at the historic Somnath Temple and participate in multiple key meetings and engagements. According to media reports, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive in Jamnagar around 7 PM on March 1, where he will stay overnight. On March 2, he will visit Reliance Vantara, an advanced animal rescue, conservation, and rehabilitation center spread over 3,000 acres within Reliance Industries' refinery complex in Jamnagar. The facility, established by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation, is dedicated to the welfare and protection of wildlife.
As part of his itinerary, Prime Minister Modi will also chair a meeting of the Shree Somnath Trust, which manages the renowned Somnath Temple. On March 3, he will begin his day with a safari at Gir National Park at 6 AM, where he will observe the rare Asiatic lions in their natural habitat. Following this, he will preside over a crucial meeting of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) in Sasan, Junagadh district. This high-level meeting, attended by 47 members including the Army Chief, representatives from various states, NGOs working in the field of wildlife conservation, Chief Wildlife Wardens, and state secretaries, will focus on national-level wildlife issues and conservation strategies. The meeting holds special significance as it will be chaired by the Prime Minister himself.
After the NBWL meeting, Modi will interact with women forest officers in Sasan before heading to Somnath Temple for prayers. Concluding his Gujarat visit, he will depart from Rajkot Airport for Delhi.
