New Delhi, February 28: The sixth season of India’s premier table tennis league, Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), is set to take place from May 29 to June 15 in Ahmedabad. The announcement was made by the organizers on Friday.
For the first time, the prestigious tournament will be held at the state-of-the-art EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. The venue has previously hosted major international events, including the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup and the 2019 Intercontinental Cup (football).
This season of UTT will feature eight teams, divided into two groups of four each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Defending champions Goa Challengers are among the participating teams and will aim to clinch their third title.
Kamlesh Mehta, Secretary of the Table Tennis Federation of India, highlighted the league's impact, stating, "Ultimate Table Tennis has played a pivotal role in transforming the table tennis landscape in India. It has provided our players with a platform to compete against top international talent."
The UTT league has consistently contributed to the growth and visibility of table tennis in India, offering Indian players an invaluable experience and exposure at an international level. Fans can expect an intense and competitive season with top-tier talent from around the world showcasing their skills in Ahmedabad.
