Two-Day Workshop by IndustriALL Begins in Mumbai, Focuses on Cement Workers' Welfare

Mumbai, February 25: A two-day workshop organized by IndustriALL commenced today in Mumbai, bringing together cement worker leaders from across the country to discuss pressing issues related to the industry. The workshop featured key speakers such as Alex from South Asia ILO, Ashutosh Bhattacharya, Praveen Rao, and Kuldeep, who engaged in an exchange of ideas on the current conditions of cement workers in India. The primary focus areas included education, health, safety, organization, and awareness among workers.

The event was graced by prominent members of the Cement Federation, including National General Secretary Devaraj Singh, National Treasurer Tulsi Das Sanadhya, Vice Presidents Devendra Gehlot, Chain Singh Thakur, Chain Singh Shekhawat, and Satyanarayan Menaria. Additionally, labor leaders such as Mukesh Galav, Anju Singh, and Champa Verma, along with representatives from eight different states, participated actively in the discussions.

During the workshop, INTUC (Indian National Trade Union Congress) leaders deliberated on forming unions for workers in the unorganized sector and emphasized the need to increase union membership to ensure better representation and protection of workers' rights. The event aimed to foster a stronger and more informed workforce within the cement industry, addressing their needs and challenges through structured dialogue and strategic planning.
