Six Killed as Truck Collides with Auto-Rickshaw on Rajkot-Ahmedabad Highway

Rajkot, February 25: In a tragic accident on Tuesday evening, six people, including a seven-year-old child and two women, lost their lives when a truck driving in the wrong direction collided with an auto-rickshaw near Maliasan village on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad National Highway. The police confirmed that the accident left the auto-rickshaw driver critically injured.

According to Assistant Police Commissioner R.S. Baria, the deceased included three men, two women, and the child, all of whom were traveling in the auto-rickshaw. The collision was so severe that the three-wheeler was crushed under the truck, requiring the use of a crane to remove the mangled remains of the vehicle from the accident site.

The authorities reported that the truck was heading towards Rajkot but was traveling in the wrong direction on the busy highway. The impact of the accident led to a massive traffic jam on the highway, causing significant disruption to commuters.

The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him. Meanwhile, the injured auto-rickshaw driver is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The police are investigating the incident further and have assured strict action against those responsible for this fatal accident.
