Mumbai, February 25: Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has admitted to making a mistake by delivering a controversial comment during a YouTube show, according to his statement to the Maharashtra Cyber Police. The admission comes amid an ongoing investigation by Maharashtra Cyber and Mumbai Police into Allahbadia’s remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube show 'India’s Got Latent.'

Allahbadia's controversial comments, which involved inappropriate remarks about parents and sex, sparked widespread criticism and led to multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) being filed against him. The backlash on social media and from the public prompted law enforcement to take action and summon him for questioning.

On Monday, Allahbadia appeared before Maharashtra Cyber officials to record his statement. According to an official, "In his statement, Allahbadia acknowledged that he made a mistake by making the controversial comment on the YouTube show, which has led to significant criticism."

The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the issue and decide on any further legal action. The incident has also reignited discussions about the responsibility of online content creators and the limits of freedom of expression on digital platforms.
