JMM MP Mahua Maji Injured in Road Accident While Returning from Mahakumbh

Latehar, February 26: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji sustained injuries early Wednesday when her car collided with a stationary truck on National Highway-75 (NH-75) near Hotwag village in Latehar district, Jharkhand. The accident occurred around 2:30 am while Maji was returning to Ranchi from Mahakumbh in Prayagraj with her son and daughter-in-law.

According to police, Maji suffered a fracture in her left wrist and was initially taken to Sadar Hospital for primary treatment. She was later referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for advanced care. Family members traveling with her also sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Sadar Police Station in-charge Dular Chaude confirmed the details and said that emergency services acted promptly to ensure Maji received the necessary medical attention.

Expressing his concern, Chief Minister Hemant Soren took to social media platform 'X' to wish Mahua Maji a speedy recovery. He wrote, "Received the news of senior JMM leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and her family members being injured in a road accident. I pray to Marang Buru for their quick recovery."

The incident has raised concerns over road safety on the busy NH-75 corridor, and further investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
