Three Arrested for Selling Videos of Female Patients by Hacking Hospital CCTV in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad : Gujarat Police arrested two individuals from Maharashtra's Sangli and one from Surat for allegedly hacking into a hospital's CCTV network to obtain and sell videos of female patients online. With these arrests, the total number of people apprehended in this case has risen to six, according to a police official on Sunday.

The Ahmedabad police had registered a case on February 17 after discovering that videos showing doctors examining female patients in the maternity ward were being circulated on YouTube and Telegram to generate revenue from "subscribers."

The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch identified the arrested individuals as Parit Dhamelia from Surat and Vaibhav Mane and Ryan Pereira from Sangli. The arrests were linked to the hacking of CCTV camera devices at Rajkot's 'Payal Maternity Home.'

The cyber crime officer stated that B.Com graduate Dhamelia was arrested for his role in hacking the CCTV system. Meanwhile, Mane was taken into custody for marketing the videos on YouTube and Telegram and providing his bank account details for the transactions.

The police are also investigating Delhi resident Rohit Sisodia for his involvement in the case, according to a statement released by the cyber crime branch.

The disturbing videos allegedly showed female patients being examined by a female doctor or receiving injections from a nurse in a closed room at the hospital. The videos were shared through three YouTube channels, with links to a Telegram group where the suspects charged Rs 2,000 per video.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the network involved in this illegal operation and to identify potential additional victims of this crime.
